A Statement of Purpose

At Church Growth Resources, we believe that healthy churches are churches that are better equipped to grow faithfully, serve effectively, and pursue their mission with clarity.

That conviction has been shaped by more than thirty years of serving churches, pastors, and ministry leaders across Canada, the United States, and beyond. Again and again, we have seen that churches do not simply need more activity; they need clear direction, practical tools, meaningful accountability, and a process that helps them turn ministry vision into action.

Healthy Church Tools was created to help denominations and church affiliations equip their churches with a simple, guided strategic planning process that pastors and church leaders can actually use.

What is a healthy church?

Church Growth Resources has identified five high-level elements that healthy churches consistently pursue.

1. Creates Focused Missional Statements

A healthy church understands the value of clear missional statements that describe its commitment to the biblical purposes of the church, including worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, outreach, and vision.

These statements help church leaders clarify who they are, what God has called them to do, and how their ministry priorities should shape future decisions.

2. Defines a Personalized Church Model

A healthy church intentionally defines its ministry model in a way that reflects its unique context, calling, people, and community.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, Healthy Church Tools helps each church describe its own philosophy of ministry and build a strategic plan that fits its specific identity and mission.

3. Develops Key Systematic Processes

A healthy church creates practical systems that help ministry move forward consistently.

This includes developing leaders, assimilating people into the life of the church, making disciples, strengthening ministry involvement, and engaging in outreach. Healthy Church Tools helps churches move from general intentions to defined processes that can be reviewed, refined, and implemented.

4. Maintains Accountability Structures

A healthy church builds accountability into its ministry life.

Goals need to be more than ideas on paper. They need to be reviewed, measured, and supported over time. Healthy Church Tools helps churches create accountability structures that allow leaders to track progress and stay focused on the work they have committed to pursue.

For denominations and church affiliations, this also provides a clearer way to support churches without having to guess where help is needed.

5. Conducts Regular Evaluations

A healthy church regularly evaluates its ministry health, growth patterns, financial stability, congregational activity, and ministry trends.

Healthy Church Tools helps churches collect and interpret meaningful information so that leaders can make informed decisions. For denominational and network leaders, these reports provide valuable insight into the overall health, needs, and opportunities across the churches they serve.

Equipping Churches Through Their Affiliation

One of the greatest opportunities for denominations, districts, associations, and church networks is the ability to equip many churches with a shared process while still allowing each church to plan according to its own context.

Healthy Church Tools is designed to serve that purpose.

Through the platform, church affiliations can provide their churches with access to strategic planning tools, health surveys, statistical reporting, consultation resources, customized projects, and practical training. At the same time, affiliation leaders can use dashboards, reports, and comparative insights to better understand how their churches are doing and where support may be most helpful.

The result is a stronger connection between the churches and the leaders who serve them.

Reports, Insights, and Shared Learning

Healthy Church Tools provides reports that help churches and their leaders understand ministry trends, evaluate progress, and compare helpful data points across similar ministry contexts.

These insights are not meant to reduce ministry to numbers. They are meant to help leaders ask better questions, identify opportunities, share best practices, and make wise decisions.

For denominations and church networks, this creates a practical way to encourage learning across churches, support pastors more effectively, and help healthy ministry practices become more visible and transferable.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Healthy Church Tools is simple: to help denominations and church affiliations equip their churches to become healthier, more focused, and more effective in the mission God has given them.

We believe that when pastors are better equipped, churches are better served. And when denominational leaders have the right tools, they are better able to support the churches entrusted to their care.
